1. Using Deet-Free Insect Repellent

Our skin is our largest organ and is continually absorbing whichever products we put on her. That is why it is SO important that we are vigilant about the ingredients she is continually exposed to. One of the biggest concerns when camping is insect repellent. The majority of mass produced bug spray contain DEET, which we now know to be harmful to our bodies and environment. DEET has been known to cause “irritation, redness, a rash, and swelling. People that have swallowed products containing DEET have experienced stomach upset, vomiting, and nausea” - National Pesticide Association. Let’s get less of that, and more kid and pet safe bug shield from Root and Splendor.

2. Use Toothpaste Tabs and Create ZERO Waste!

PERFECT for camping, even more PERFECT-ER for the planet! These tooth tabs are made from entirely natural ingredients and a great way to improve your oral hygiene.

To Use: Crunch one (or half of one) tablet between your teeth until a paste fills your mouth. Then brush and rinse as usual!

Best part? No plastic tube to dispose of (or carry around) when enjoying the outdoors!

3. Use a Shampoo / Body Bar in One!

With a rich lather and a “sweet, herbal scent, this shampoo bar was formulated to nourish your hair and scalp, but feel free to use it on your whole body, too!”- Meow Meow Tweet

We are TOTALLY loving this hair / body wash combo bar. Moisturizing while still cleansing with ingredients of avocado oil, aloe vera and rosemary. SO lovely.

Pro Tip: Break the bar into halves or quarters and only bring a small portion on your trip! Save the rest for a spa sesh once you return home.

4. Save Time and Space, Dry Shampoo

If there is any better excuse to skip a day (or two) washing your hair, camping is the perfect one!

Save time (and your sanity) by simply packing a small amount of dry shampoo for your trip. No water needed!

Excellent for a long weekend in the woods, anywhere with limited water, or when you have kiddos in tow. Sprinkle, massage in, done.

5. Protect Yourself with Mad Hippie Daily Protective Serum

Protect that gorgeous face of yours with this nourishing and hydrating daily SPF. Small enough to carry in your pack, but mighty enough to guard you from the rays when the sun is high in the sky.

In addition, “vitamins C and E work to curb oxidative stress” that lead to fine lines and wrinkles. - Mad Hippie
