A few months ago, we got a new neighbor right next door, Bad Kitty Photography. They are a wild and fun bunch of women who have fine tuned the art of boudoir photography. They asked us to team up with them on Hot Shots, a radio competition for KYXY 96.5, where we would spend a day beautifying 90 women with hair styling and makeup prior to their photoshoot.
And we were all in!
I expected the day to be buzzing, full of fun, and exhausting. Which it was. What I didn't expect, was to feel so alive from the empowerment these ladies were radiating.
Many women had recently completed a weight loss journey, ranging form 20-110 pounds. One woman was expressing her new found freedom since her divorce. A few ladies were tapping into their alter ego, one drew inspiration from Harley Quinn. For some this had become an annual tradition. I was most surprised by the mature, quiet one who said to make her look bad for the dungeon room. There was certainly an array of femininity, from fierce and daring to sensual and romantic.
I am grateful to have been a part of this experience. Honestly, I am a bit surprised at our ability to perform a feat of this magnitude. On my drive home from this 15 hour day, I was still vibing high from all the lady power I had helped create.
